PFAS/POPS Disposal
Difficult times for the fire industry, with the disposal of AFFF from fire extinguishers being a major issue. We all know that PFOS, PFOA and PFHxS were banned some time ago. The industry went from a C8 formular to a C6 and now C4, but they can still contain PFAS or chemicals that are, or soon to be classified as POPS.
Without testing every aqueous waste extinguisher it cannot be certain exactly what is in them. For this reason and working closely with the Environment Agency, the FIA and others, we at FPR send all aqueous waste for high temperature incineration.
